about

The word Titanomachy means the War of the Titans and was a ten year war fought through a number of battles between Titans and the Gods. The Titanomachy was one of the pivotal moments of Greek mythology, a time when one generation of Gods were replaced with another, the Olympians.

In four songs, Atlas Castle brings the listener on quite the voyage, through a tragic story. A story you’ll find is full of hope and loss simultaneously. From the complex and dance-y beats, to the soothing and dark. This juxtaposition between light and dark never causes these songs to lose sight of the melodic hope bore so deeply into them.

Let’s set the Stage a tad; Throughout Titanomachy, you’ll be following the story through the point of view of the Titans. The Titans have lost the war, as reflected in the EP’s final track, Enduring Atlas. And, indeed, Atlas did endure. Knowing full well he was such a crucial fighter for the opposition, Zeus gave Atlas the cruel and unusual punishment of holding up and bearing the burden of the World on merely his shoulder.

"… Don’t ask me how I came up with this piece’s concept either… I was just in the moment and ran with it. I locked myself down and wrote this piece live in just four days. I took my MIDI controllers, electronic instruments and DAW (program for recording) and escaped for a four-day jam session. Looping, sampling, writing, and feeling this epic, yet grooving live potential. The way that that coalesced was really not planned - I just felt that I had things worth saying and throwing toward that direction, like a necessity. There were vast amounts of creative juices flowing from my brain, my body and in that exact four-day moment, where I shuttered myself away from all, they found this very particular and special way of just bubbling towards the surface. I hope you enjoy hearing this piece of art as much as I enjoyed writing and performing it.”
